During reading this week one of our phonics skills focus was learning about blends! (Words that begin with 2 or 3 consonants. For example, skip, splat, third, etc.) To help reinforce this concept, the first graders made word webs that had all different types of words with blends. We cut out words from magazines and they were able to write and illustrate words with blends as well. Enjoy the pictures from this fun activity! The first graders couldn't get enough of searching and "hunting" for blends!
